“Everything Everywhere all at Once”
won Best Picture, one of seven Oscar statuettes this film received at
the 95th Academy of Motion Picture, Art and Sciences awards,
celebrated on March 12th, 2023, in Los Angeles, California, where
Mexican filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro also won an Oscar, this time for
Best Animated Picture, for “Pinocchio.”

Brendan Fraser won Best Actor, for his
performance as a morbidly obese man trying to reconnect with his
estranged daughter, in “The Whale,” while Sarah Polley won Best
Adapted Screenplay, for “Women Talking.”
“All Quiet on the Western Front,”
an adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque’s novel about trench life
during World War I, picked up four Oscars, including the trophy for
Best International Feature, while “Avatar: the Way of the Water”,
won for Best Achievement in Visual Effects.
“Navalny,” a look at Russian
opposition leader Alexei Navalny, won for Best Documentary Feature.
Yulia Navalny, the imprisoned politician’s wife, walked to the
stage to receive the award.
