‘Nomadland’, Andra Day, Chadwick Boseman and the sequel to ‘Borat’ win big at the Golden Globes

“Nomadland” won for best dramatic motion picture and “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” won for best comedy film, in the Golden Globe Awards ceremony, celebrated on February 28, 2021.

Andra Day won best actress in a dramatic role in a motion picture for “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” and Chadwick Boseman won posthumously for best dramatic actor, for his final movie role in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”

Chloé Zhao, who helmed “Nomadland,” became only the second woman ever to win Best Director, while “Minari”, a film about a Korean-American family that moves to Arkansas to start a new life, won the Globe for Best Motion Picture in a Foreign Language.

Jodie Foster (“The Mauritanian”) and Daniel Kaluuya (“Judas and the Black Messiah”) won respectively for best actress and best actor in a supporting role in a motion picture, while “Soul” won for Best Animated Feature.

On the television categories, “The Crown” won for best drama and “Schitt’s Creek” for best comedy.  

The annual 78th Golden Globe Awards, of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, took place in virtual format, on February 28, 2021, after being delayed for nearly two months by the coronavirus pandemic.
