Chris Rock finally talks about Oscar slap

'CODA', 'Duna', Kenneth Branagh y el filme japonés 'Drive my Car', ganan los principales trofeos en los premios Oscar del 2022

El filme dramático “CODA”, sobre una joven que sueña con tener una carrera musical y quien además es la única persona oyente en una familia de sordos, fue la gran sorpresa al ganar como Mejor Película, en la entrega anual número 94 de los premios Oscar, de la Academia de Arte y Ciencias Cinematográficas de Estados Unidos, ceremonia que tuvo lugar el 27 de marzo del 2022, en Los Angeles, California. 
“CODA” también ganó en las categorías de Mejor Actor de Reparto (Troy Kotsur) y Mejor Guión Adaptado. Por su parte, Jane Campion ganó por Mejor Dirección, por la película western “The Power of the Dog”, una realización de Netflix. 
El largometraje épico de ciencia ficción “Duna”, de Denis Villeneuve, basado en el libro de Frank Herbert, ganó un total de seis estatuillas, incluyendo Mejores Efectos Visuales, Mejor Edición Fílmica, Mejor Diseño de Producción y Mejor Sonido. 
Jessica Chastain (“The Eyes of Tammy Faye”) y Will Smith (“King Richard”) ambos ganaron trofeos como Mejor Actriz y Mejor Actor, de manera respectiva, mientras que Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) ganó como Mejor Actriz de Reparto. El filme japonés “Drive My Car”, dirigido por Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, ganó como Mejor Larometraje Internacional. 
Después de haber sido nominado en seis ocasiones en el transcurso de los años, el guionista, director y actor irlandés Kenneth Branagh, por fin ganó su primer Oscar y fue en la categoría de Mejor Guión Original, por “Belfast”, un filme muy personal para él, ya que trata sobre las experiencias de un niño y su familia irlandesa trabajadora, durante la tumultuosa década de 1960 en Belfast, Irlanda.

'CODA', 'Dune', Kenneth Branagh and Japan's 'Drive my Car', win the top prizes at the Oscars of 2022

“CODA”, a dramatic film about a young woman who dreams about a carreer in music and who is also the only hearing person in her deaf family, was the surprise winner of the top Best Picture category, in the 94th annual Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Science -the Oscar- awards, which took place on March 27, 2022 in Los Angeles, California. 
“CODA” also won Oscars for Best Supporting Actor (Troy Kotsur) and Best Adapted Screenplay. Jane Campion won for Best Achievement in Directing, for the dramatic western “The Power of the Dog”, which was made and produced by the streaming service Netflix. 
Denis Villeneuve's epic science fiction feature film “Dune”, based on Frank Herbert's book, won a total of six Oscars, including Best Visual Effects, Best Film Editing, Best Production Design and Best Sound.

‘Nomadland’, Frances McDormand, Anthony Hopkins and ‘Sound of Metal’ win big at the Oscars of 2021

“Nomadland”, about an out of work woman who embarks on a journey through the American West, living as a van-dwelling nomad, won in the main Oscar categories, including best picture, best director (Chloe Zhao) and best actress (Frances McDormand), along with Anthony Hopkins, who took home the best actor statuette for “The Father”, in the ceremony celebrated on April 25th, 2021. 

Chinese screenwriter and producer Chloe Zhao became the second woman to win the Oscar for best director (the first woman to win was Kathryn Bigelow for “The Hurt Locker”, 2008), while Anthony Hopkins received his second Oscar, now for his dramatic performance in “The Father”. Hopkins won his first golden statuette for “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991).  

The film “Sound of Metal”, which stars Riz Ahmed and is directed and co-written by Darius Marder, won two Oscars, for best film editing (to Mikkel E.G. Nielsen) and best sound, for the work of Mexican sound engineers Jaime Baksht, Michelle Couttolenc and Carlos Cortes. 

The innovative and visually stunning science fiction film “Tenet”, directed by Christopher Nolan, won the Oscar for best visual effects, while Yuh-Jung Youn (“Minari”), and Daniel Kaluuya (“Judas and the Black Messiah”), both won for best supporting actress and supporting actor, respectively. 

Denmark’s picture “Another Round” won for best international film, while Disney/Pixar’s “Soul” won the best animated feature film and best original score trophies. 

The 93rd Oscar ceremony, an event where the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards each year the best in cinema in American and international films, took place on April 25, 2021, at the Union Station and the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center.

La cinta “Nomadland”, sobre una mujer desempleada que emprende un viaje nómada en su camioneta van por el paisaje estadounidense, ganó premios Oscar como mejor película del año, mejor directora (Chloe Zhao) y actriz estelar (Frances McDormand), junto con Anthony Hopkins, quien recibió la presea por mejor actor por “El Padre”, en la ceremonia efectuada el 25 de abril del 2021.

La también guionista y productora china Chloe Zhao se convirtió en la segunda mujer en ganar el Oscar como mejor directora (la primera fue Kathryn Bigelow por “The Hurt Locker”, 2008), mientras que el veterano actor Anthony Hopkins ganó por segunda ocasión la estatuilla dorada, ahora por el drama “The Father”. Hopkins ganó su primer Oscar por “El Silencio de los Inocentes” (1991).

La película “Sound of Metal”, dirigida y coescrita por Darius Marder y protagonizada por Riz Ahmed, ganó dos premios Oscar, uno por mejor edición fílmica para Mikkel E.G. Nielsen y otro por mejor sonido, para los ingenieros de audio mexicanos Jaime Baksht, Michelle Couttolenc y Carlos Cortés.

La entrega número 93 de los premios Oscar, un evento con el que que cada año la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas de Estados Unidos premia lo mejor del cine estadounidense e internacional, se efectuó el 25 de abril del 2021, en el Union Station y en el Teatro Dolby en el Centro Hollywood y Highland en Los Ángeles. La ceremonia se llevó a cabo en medio de estrictas medidas de prevención por el COVID-19.

‘Nomadland’, Andra Day, Chadwick Boseman y la secuela de Borat se llevan los premios Globo de Oro

“Nomadland” obtuvo el trofeo por mejor película dramática, mientras que “Borat Película Film Secuela” ganó por mejor comedia, en la ceremonia anual de los premios Globo de Oro, que se efectuó el 28 de febrero del 2021.  

Andra Day ganó como mejor actriz de drama en cine por “Los Estados Unidos contra Billie Holiday”, mientras que Chadwick Boseman obtuvo la presea de manera póstuma, por su interpretación en “La Madre del Blues”.

La cineasta china Chloe Zhao, quien dirigió “Nomadland”, se convirtió en la segunda mujer en ganar la presea en la categoría de Mejor Dirección, después de Barbra Streisand, quien ganó con “Yentl”, en 1984.

“Minari”, la cual trata sobre una familia coreana-estadounidense que se muda a Arkansas, Estados Unidos, para comenzar una nueva vida, ganó como Mejor Largometraje en Lengua no Inglesa.

Jodie Foster (“The Mauritanian”) y Daniel Kaluuya (“Judas and the Black Messiah”) ganaron de manera respectiva como mejor actriz y mejor actor de reparto en una película, mientras que “Soul” triunfó como Mejor Largometraje de Animación.

En las categorías de televisión, “The Crown” se llevó el Globo por mejor serie dramática y “Schitt’s Creek” ganó por mejor programa de comedia. 

La edición número 78 de los premios Globo de Oro, que cada año otorga la Asociación de Prensa Extranjera en Hollywood, se efectuó el 28 de febrero del 2021 de modo virtual, debido a la pandemia del coronavirus.  

Efectuado dos meses después de lo acostumbrado, el evento de esa asociación contó con las comediantes Tina Fey y Amy Poehler en la conducción.

“Nomadland” won for best dramatic motion picture and “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” won for best comedy film, in the Golden Globe Awards ceremony, celebrated on February 28, 2021.

Andra Day won best actress in a dramatic role in a motion picture for “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” and Chadwick Boseman won posthumously for best dramatic actor, for his final movie role in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”

Chloé Zhao, who helmed “Nomadland,” became only the second woman ever to win Best Director, while “Minari”, a film about a Korean-American family that moves to Arkansas to start a new life, won the Globe for Best Motion Picture in a Foreign Language.

Jodie Foster (“The Mauritanian”) and Daniel Kaluuya (“Judas and the Black Messiah”) won respectively for best actress and best actor in a supporting role in a motion picture, while “Soul” won for Best Animated Feature.

On the television categories, “The Crown” won for best drama and “Schitt’s Creek” for best comedy.  

The annual 78th Golden Globe Awards, of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, took place in virtual format, on February 28, 2021, after being delayed for nearly two months by the coronavirus pandemic.
